Client: Danish AM Hub
Project: Topology optimized exhibition wall
Weight: 34 kg
Size: 4 x 3 x 0,3 meters
The wall is intended to be an exhibition at the Danish AM Hub, showcasing what topology optimization and 3D printing can create together.
The topology-optimized Apex wall is a conceptual example of supporting a concrete beam.
The structure is designed solely by software, which calculates where forces run through the construction and where there is no load in the material.
The computer removes the material with the least load, leaving the design with an organic shape.
The components of the wall are printed using our industrial robots, capable of printing at a scale of up to 3m x 2m x 1.8m.
The wall is printed using a recyclable material, which we have facilities to disassemble and transform into printable material.
