Research and Development
Our testing facilities make us an ideal partner in research and development processes, helping with the production and testing of prototypes.ROTATING FATIGUE TEST
The Rotational Fatigue Test was developed by MDT A/S to characterize material properties such as dynamic failures in a short time.
The test simulates the behavior of a cantilever beam, where forces can be applied to the tip of a specimen. Which allow for the characterization of bending effects and fatigue failure of a sample.
This method can be applied for various purposes, such as researching and analyzing the dynamic fatigue of different components, including car antennas, wind turbine blades, support materials, and solar panels.
Erosion tunnel
At MDT A/S, we offer research and testing with our Wind Tunnel and Erosion Chamber. It is a valuable tool for evaluating the effects of wind and erosion on test samples. Rectangular samples are placed inside the chamber, where the angle of attack and wind speed can be adjusted for both erosion and wind tests.
Tests simulate real-world conditions, ideal for assessing transport vehicles, wind turbines, solar panels, coated surfaces, paint, wood, and plastic.
climate chamber
Our two climate chambers are specifically designed to provide precise control over temperature and humidity levels. They create a controlled environment for testing a variety of different materials and products.
With each chamber measuring 8 square meters, the spacious design allows for testing larger samples or multiple samples simultaneously, increasing overall efficiency and reducing testing time.
test bench
We offer three-point and four-point bending tests as well as tensile tests to evaluate material behavior under various types of loads. These tests provide a solid foundation for selecting the right materials and optimizing their performance for specific applications and conditions. Our testing capabilities include tensile tests for loads up to 300 kg and bending tests with flexural loads up to 3000 kg.
SOUNDS CHAMBER
At MDT A/S, we have developed a sound chamber for testing and comparing acoustic materials. In this chamber, we can screen the acoustic properties of materials by measuring the level and characteristics of sound reflected when a well-defined sound wave is directed at the material. This allows us to clearly differentiate between the sound absorption capabilities of different materials.
Thermal conductivity
At MDT A/S, we offer thermal conductivity testing to assist our customers in evaluating the thermal properties of their materials. These tests are critical for applications where temperature needs to be either rapidly changed or maintained at a constant level.
The test setup includes two heat sources (hot and cold) with the material placed between them, and temperature sensors are connected to each side. The setup is encapsulated by a protective shield that ensures heat flows in one direction. A cover is used to insulate the setup from heat loss and minimize contact resistance between each layer.
